Kigali Equipment
Rehabilitation Workshop (KREW) Ltd

KREW is a social enterprise producing mobility aids and disability equipment for children and young people. Kumwe has provided them with a concessional loan, interest-free repayable seed capital, and our package of wrap-around support.

KREW sells to schools, clinics, and organisations supporting people with disabilities at affordable prices using locally produced, high quality equipment.

One of the only producers of local disability aids in the country, KREW’s impact includes improvement of children’s physical mobility; increased engagement in play; increased attendance in school and more frequent access to health services.

Olpah: Client of Itetero Daycare in MahamaRefugee Camp

Kumwe Hub’s supported daycare has been a game-changer for my business, allowing me to work effectively while my child is in good hands. This has significantly boosted my productivity and profits, bringing much-needed peace of mind.

Samuel Uwihanganye; Managing Director, Rainbow Health Foods

Thanks to a loan from Kumwe Hub, I upgraded from a basic, energy-hungry, and noisy one-ton-per-day grinding machine to an advanced, energy efficiency five-ton-per-day processor. This change reduced waste and improved porridge quality for children. The loan also enabled me to buy a delivery van for better distribution to school, franchise’s, and supermarkets.

A panellist at the E-learning conference in Kigali 2022

Attending eLearning Africa annual conference and exhibition was my first big panel appearance. eLearning Africa is the largest and most comprehensive knowledge-sharing event for technology-enhanced education, training and skills in Africa. It was an inspiring and professionally organized event. A great and enjoyable experience for me, especially as I was given the platform to speak on a panel presentation.
